It's Almost Football Time

We are gearing up for football season around here. We are huge Tennessee Volunteers fans. So, when I asked my husband what color I should paint my nails, he said Orange. Ok, I have about 10 different oranges. He managed to pick two, and I picked the glitter.
Here we have:
L.A. Colors Sassy Sparkle
Pure Ice Hot Tamale
Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Sun Kissed
(Not pictured is a bright white for the base color and Seche Vite topcoat.)

Since my husband picked two different oranges (one is a light creamy color and the other is a darker shimmer), I didn't want to just do a version of a French or anything like that. I also didn't want to just completely mix the colors together.

What I ended up doing was:
-Base white color. Two coats.
-Sponged on the Sally Hanses orange. Not too light and not too much. Make blotches, leaving some white.
-Sponged on the Pure Ice orange. You want to cover up any white and try not to completely cover the first orange.
-I then went back and alternated with a bit of both colors to cover any white spots I had missed and to make sure none had more of one color than the other. I was going for an orange spongy marbley blend of colors.
-Next was 2 coats of Sassy Sparkle.
-Topped it all off with a coat of Seche Vite.

I really love this. I can't get over how awesome it looks in person. I keep looking down at them because they are just so shiny. This is definitely a mani I will do again, especially during football season. ~Go Vols!~
